MEET THE PARTY

The people who would govern Britain: their scandals, arrests, and controversies

Reform UK claims to be different. Better. Cleaner. But here's who would actually be in government:

The MPs: Who Would Run The Country

Lee Anderson
Lee Anderson
MP for Ashfield | Chief Whip
🚩 Islamophobic Comments
In February 2024, Anderson had the Conservative whip suspended after claiming "Islamists" had "got control" of Sadiq Khan and Keir Starmer. PM Rishi Sunak said the comments were "wrong, unacceptable and ill-judged." Anderson refused to apologize.
🚩 Known for Inflammatory Rhetoric
Has repeatedly made divisive statements attacking minorities and immigrants. When confronted by a teacher about his use of "racist flags," his response was dismissive rather than reflective.
📋 Background
Defected from Conservative Party March 2024. First Reform MP. Re-elected 2024. Now Chief Whip—responsible for party discipline.
Active MP
Suella Braverman
Suella Braverman
MP for Fareham & Waterlooville | Former Home Secretary
⚖️ Failed as Home Secretary
Braverman served as Home Secretary from September 2022 to October 2022, and again from October 2022 to November 2023. Her record was catastrophic: small boats continued arriving at record rates, the Rwanda asylum scheme was ruled unlawful by the courts.
⚖️ Unlawful Decisions
In January 2023, Braverman dropped three of the 30 recommendations from the Windrush Lessons Learned Review. In June 2024 the High Court ruled that this decision was unlawful. She actively undermined progress on fixing systemic racism in immigration enforcement.
🚩 Farage Previously Called Her "Utterly Useless"
Farage had previously called Braverman's record "absolutely pathetic" and said on defection that she had been "utterly useless, as they all were." Now he's recruiting her—showing Reform will absorb anyone from the Tory right, regardless of competence.
📋 Background
Braverman defected to Reform UK on 26 January 2026. Failed in 2022 Tory leadership race (came 6th), couldn't get on 2024 election ballot. Defected after a year of secret talks with Farage. Represents the worst of the Conservative establishment now rebadging as Reform.
Active MP
Richard Tice
Richard Tice
MP | Deputy Leader
💰 Tax Evasion Scandal
🚨 Larger Tax History
Labour previously urged HMRC to investigate Tice after reports he "avoided nearly £600,000 in corporation tax" through property dealings.
📋 Background
Property developer and financier. Led Brexit Party before it became Reform. Deputy leader of Reform UK. In Parliament for his second stint.
Active MP
Rupert Lowe
Rupert Lowe
Former MP | Former Deputy Leader
⚖️ Suspended for Threatening Violence
In March 2025, Farage suspended Lowe from Reform UK after allegations he made threats of violence toward party chairman Zia Yusuf. Also faced allegations of bullying and discriminatory remarks about women. Matter referred to police.
🚩 Public Criticism of Leadership
Publicly criticized Farage for "watering down" Reform's deportation policy. Called the party "a protest party led by the Messiah" before his suspension.
📋 Background
Elected 2024. Suspended March 2025. Later launched rival party "Restore Britain" which Hope not Hate categorised as "part of a broader re-racialisation of the British far right."
Suspended
James McMurdock
James McMurdock
Former Reform MP | Now Independent
💰 COVID Fraud Allegations
⚖️ Criminal Assault Conviction
Convicted in 2006 of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. This emerged only after his election to Parliament—showing Reform's non-existent vetting.
🚩 CV Embellishment
Falsely claimed work at Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers. His stint at Goldman was 3 months; he claimed experience at Lehman when it collapsed before he even entered university.

THE JAILED: When Reform Goes To Prison

Nathan Gill
Nathan Gill
Former Reform UK Wales Leader | JAILED
🇷🇺 Russian Bribery Scheme
Accepted bribes from pro-Russian Ukrainian politician Oleg Voloshyn to make pro-Russia statements in the European Parliament and media. Used coded language like "promised X-mas gifts" and "postcards" to discuss payments. Received at least £40,000.
⚖️ National Security Threat
Judge said: "Your conduct fundamentally compromised the integrity of a supranational legislative body, particularly in its dealings with Russia – a persistent hostile state." Farage claimed he was "deeply shocked" by Gill's actions.
IMPRISONED

Party Leadership & Chaos

Even the people running the party are falling apart, quitting, threatening violence, and infighting over basic policy:

Zia Yusuf
Zia Yusuf
Reform UK Party Chairman | Major Donor
🚩 Forced MP Out of Party Through Threats
In March 2025, Reform MP Rupert Lowe was suspended after allegedly making physical threats of violence against Yusuf "on at least two occasions." Lowe claims Yusuf forced him out for "talking too much about mass deportations." This exposed the party's internal chaos at the highest level.
😂 Dramatic Resignation & Immediate Return
On 5 June 2025, Yusuf dramatically quit as chairman via social media, saying working for Reform was not "a good use of my time." Within 48 hours he reversed his decision, claiming he felt "blindsided" and was suffering from "relentless racist abuse on X." This exposed massive internal miscommunication and party dysfunction.
⚖️ Forced Out Own MP Over Burqa Comments
When new Reform MP Sarah Pochin asked about banning the burqa, Yusuf called her "dumb" for going against party policy (which doesn't support a burqa ban). His outburst led to his resignation, showing how the party's leadership row openly over basic positions.
📋 Background
Businessman and party's largest donor. Appointed chairman July 2024. Credited with professionalizing the party and growing membership. Yet despite his success, couldn't stop infighting with MPs, allegations of threatening violence, and his own mental health crisis leading to multiple quit/return cycle. Represents the chaos at the top of Reform.
Active Chairman

The Candidates: Vetting Failures

Despite Farage's claims of "brutal" vetting, Reform candidates keep getting exposed for racist, Islamophobic, and extremist comments. Here's who they've selected:

Corey Edwards
Corey Edwards
Senedd Candidate | Pen-y-Bont Bro Morgannwg
🚩 Nazi Salute Photo
Photograph emerged of Edwards appearing to perform a Nazi salute, hours after being announced as Reform's lead candidate. His explanation was implausible: he claimed he was imitating a Welsh footballer or Basil Fawlty from TV.
📋 Background
University law graduate. Worked as special adviser to Cabinet Office and Attorney General. Photo dated back at least six years but raised serious questions about candidate vetting.
Candidate
Laura Anne Jones
Laura Anne Jones
Senedd Member | Welsh Conservative Defector
🚩 Racist Slur Against Chinese People
In August 2023, Jones used a racial slur to describe Chinese people in a WhatsApp group. Senedd standards committee recommended a 2-week suspension. Her conduct "fell far below the standards expected."
🚩 Failed to Challenge Offensive Comments
Standards committee also ruled Jones breached the code of conduct by failing to challenge offensive comments from staff members. Points to "office culture where there was little respect towards others."
📋 Background
Defected from Welsh Conservatives to Reform in July 2025. Now a Senedd member representing Reform. The fact Reform accepted her defection after these allegations "tells you everything about the party," according to Plaid Cymru.
Active Member
Alan Stay

Local Election Candidate | Isle of Wight
🚩 Repeated Racist Slurs
📋 Background
Local election candidate for Isle of Wight. Labour called for his dismissal, noting vetting "is clearly not fit for purpose."
Candidate
Caroline Panetta

Local Election Candidate | Bexley, London
🚩 Islamophobic Extremism

Candidate
Sarah Le Tissier
Sarah Le Tissier
Local Candidate | Furnace Green, Crawley
🚩 Racist Comments to Tenants
Estate agent candidate caught making vile racist comments to tenants while visiting their properties. Reported to have referred to neighbours as "The Boat People next door"—a dehumanizing term used by Reform supporters for asylum seekers and immigrants.
🚩 Use of Racial Slurs
Documented use of the "N" word and other racial slurs in interactions with tenants. Pattern of racist language toward those from different backgrounds while conducting estate agency business—exploiting positions of authority to demean vulnerable people.
📋 Background
Works as daytime estate agent while serving as Reform UK candidate. Uses professional access to tenants' homes as opportunity to express racist views. Represents the type of candidate Reform's failed vetting process allows to stand for election.

The Pattern Is Clear

Reform claims to have "brutal" vetting. Reality: Nazi salutes, Russian bribes, COVID fraud, assault convictions, racist slurs, Islamophobic extremism, and tax evasion. Almost weekly, another scandal emerges. Farage blames it on "one bad apple" or claims he can't "control" thousands of candidates—despite his photograph being on their leaflets.

These are the people who would run Britain if Reform wins. Is this who you want in government?
